Mark Nordman was born into a very musical family in the Metropolitan Detroit area. The son of an instrumental music teacher and band director, Mark started playing piano at age 5 and trumpet at age 7. Through his high school and college years, Mark played jazz piano extensively on the Private Club scene in the Detroit area, landing his first professional gig at age 15. After graduating from the prestigious Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, and attending the National Music Camp at Interlochen for 18 summer seasons, Mark earned his degree in Business Administration from Michigan State University in 1982. He has spent 25 years as a senior executive in the hospitality industry, earning major awards for achievement from some of the world’s largest and most successful companies. Nordman is also universally recognized as one of the best and most effective leaders in the Private Club industry.
Returning to the passion of his musical roots a number of years ago, Mark formed M&H Productions, LLC to produce concerts and jazz festivals in special venues and also to represent certain musical artists in their business and promotional endeavors. Nordman formed Woodward Avenue Records in 2010 to produce and distribute unique collaborative projects which unite accomplished artists from various musical genres. Woodward Avenue’s initial project, “Groove Me,” a very special collaboration between jazz guitarist Nate Najar and R&B Legend, Melba Moore, was released in October 2010. Many highly successful projects have been released since as we continue to work with great artists and producers.
